The splendour of the interplay of fire and ice prompted the country's first settlers to name their capital after this mystical landscape. Translated, Reykjavik means "bay of smoke" or "the steaming bay". The island state on the North Atlantic has always attracted travellers with its unique glacier and volcanic landscapes and unites visitors and locals with its impressive natural wonders and culture.
