Every culture, every country, every region has its very own manners and gestures. In Germany, for example, "Prosten", i.e. toasting each other in a convivial gathering, is considered a polite tradition. Not so in Hungary. After the suppression of the Hungarian Revolution in 1848, the Austrians toasted the execution of several Hungarian generals and their success with beer. From then on, toasting was even a criminal offence for 150 years.

Hungary is special. Beyond the clichés of goulash, salami and paprika, a country with over a thousand years of history, magnificent architecture in the lively capital Budapest, world-famous Tokaj wine, Lake Balaton and unique landscapes are waiting for visitors.
